Word was received in Letts Monday announcing the death of James Beard of Centerville, Kansas, a former resident of Letts, who's death occurred at his Kansas home Sunday. The remains were brought to Letts Sunday for burial and short funeral services were held. The remains were accompanied by Mrs. Lawrence House, a daughter of the decedent. Mr. Beard was about 80 years of age at the time of his death. Previous to his removal to Kansas he was a prominent citizen of Louisa county.
