Word was received here Monday of the death of Mrs. Henry C. Davis which occurred at her home in Faribault, Minn., Sunday night, August 11, from heart failure. Death was very sudden and came as a great shock to her family and friends. Clara Dell Sellers was born in Cairo, Iowa, June 25, 1877 and died at her home in Faribault, Minn, Sunday August 11, 1912, aged 35 years, 1 month and 16 days. In her early girlhood she moved to Wapello with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Sellers, where she attended the Wapello public school and was married November 25, 1896 to Henry C. Davis. To this union five children were born, Mabel, Ruth, Will, Oscar and Myrtle.

Mr. and Mrs. Davis made their home in Wapello several years but for the past eight years have resided in Faribault, Minn. While living in Wapello, Mrs. Davis united with the Methodist church and later transferred her membership to the Methodist Episcopal church in Faribault. She was a excellent woman, a true wife and a good mother. She lived for her family. Besides her immediate family deceased is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Sellers, of Columbus Junction; one brother, Bert Sellers, who is now in the U. S. Army, and four sisters, Mrs. Flossie Turgeon, of Ottumwa; Mrs. Talma McCoy, of Mt. Pleasant and Jennie and Cecil Sellers, of Columbus Junction.

Funeral services were held from the home in Faribault, Tuesday morning and the remains were brought to Wapello Tuesday night and a second service was held at the Methodist Episcopal church Wednesday morning conducted by Rev. E. C. Brooks, assisted by Rev. Carl Montanus, after which the remains were laid to rest in the Wapello cemetery.
