Mrs. Waretta Buel, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Bettler, answered the final summons on the 22d day of December, 1907. Born in this fair state of Iowa, with her parents she removed from her native town, Prairie City, Iowa, to Wapello, Iowa, in the year 1894, at the age of fourteen. On the 22 day of May, 1903, she united in marriage with Jesse Buel,of Omaha. Some twelve weeks ago she was suddenly taken ill, and after patient suffering died at the Omaha general hospital, Omaha, Neb.

When ten years of age she united with the Congregational church at Prairie City, but had her membership transferred to the Wapello Presbyterian church. She has since been a consistent member of that denomination. On Christmas day we committed her body to the earth in the hope of glad reunion, Rev. William Mackay, pastor of the Morning Sun Presbyterian church, spoke comforting words, so needed in the hour of sorrow. She is survived by her husband, father and mother, one sister and two brothers. Interment in the Wapello cemetery.
