Page 1John Jacobs, an old resident of Letts, died Monday morning as a result of taking paris green with suicidal intent last Thursday evening Mr. Jacobs had been a resident of Letts and vicinity for almost fifty years. When it was discovered last Thursday evening by the members of his family that Mr. Jacobs had swallowed the poison; physicians were summoned and every effort possible was made to save his life, but without avail. The effects of paris green, according to the physicians in attendance, are slow but sure. He was 73 years of age at the time of his death. Ill health was responsible for his rash act. Mr. Jacobs is survived by his wife, from whom he has been separated for several years, and by five children. The children are Mrs. L. S. Curtis, Mrs. Al. Johnson and Mrs. E. H Barnes, of Letts and Mrs. John H. House of Missouri and J. H. Jacobs, of Letts.
