J. H. Willmering, a well known citizen of Columbus Junction, died yesterday morning July 24, 1907, from the effects of injuries received in a runaway in Oklahoma about three weeks ago. He was brought home July 10, and for a day or two seemed to improve, but it was not permanent, and he soon began to fail with the above results. He was commonly known as "Dutch Jake" and for many yeas he was prominent all over this part of Iowa as a stock buyer and widely known. At one time he was possessed of wealth, but reverses came and swept away much of his property.
