George Emmet Martin was born near Cairo August 31, 1887, and died at his home near Ramona, South Dakota, March 26, 1907, aged 19 years, 6 months and 25 days. Deceased was the second son of Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Martin, formerly of this county. Of an affectionate disposition, believing good of everyone, he was beloved by a large circle of relatives and friends, who will long mourn his early death. He was a home loving boy and an earnest worker in the Church of Christ of which he was a member. In the saddened home are left the parents, two brothers and two sisters, together with his aged grandfather, A. H. Havenhill and grand mother, Mrs. Catherine Martin, both living near Cairo. The heart broken family accompanied the remains back to Winfield, where the funeral was held from the home of his grandmother Friday, March 29, conducted by Rev. Ingham. Interment in Cairo cemetery.
