Special Dispatch to the Dubuque Times
MARION, IOWA, May 20a destructive fire occurred in this place this morning about 3 o’clock, originating in a small frame building on Main Street, owned by a Mr. Gove, and occupied by him as a photographic gallery, and resulted in the burning of the following buildings on Market Street, viz: The produce and commission house of Busby & Elliott, the boot and shoe shop of W. W. Thomas, the grocery store of D. F. Whipple, and the Farmer’s Hotel, owned and kept by Mr. Koslosh. The contents of each building were partially saved. The entire loss will reach about $15,000. Total insurance about $3,000. Cause of the fire unknown.
