4 Jun 1855Two men Drowned.
Last night - abought midnight - three men, who were employed as watchmen on the railroad on the opposite side of the river, went out in a skiff to raise a trot line that had been set for catching fish; while in the act of rasing the line, by some mismanagement the skiff was upset, and two of the men, William Lloyd, and a German named Fred, were drowned. The third succeeded in swimming to the shore, and drew out the body of Lloyd, to which the fishing line had become fastened. The body of the other we believe has not been recovered. These are all the particulars we have been able, as yet, to gather. - Burlington Gazette.
