Funeral services for Mrs. Lawrence (Eva) Pfeffer, 65, were held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Chapel of the Geilenfeld-Schaaf-McCullough Funeral Home with Mr. Richard Shuta of Holman, Wisc. officiating at the service. Burial was in the Calvary Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Craig Pfeffer, Mark Pfeffer, Joe Pfeffer, Don Frideres, Dick Frideres, and Ron Miller.
Eva Halford, daughter of Ben and Della Jennings Halford, was born at Manning, Ia., on Feb. 13, 1914. She attended school at Humboldt and married Lawrence Pfeffer at Burt on July 18, 1934. They farmed near Algona for a time, moved to Dayton, Ia., then Clear Lake where they lived 17 years. It was 1967 when they moved to Algona where the Pfeffers have lived since.
While they lived in Clear Lake, Mrs. Pfeffer was a seamstress for Lundburgs and the Hub Clothiers in Mason City.
She is survived by her husband, Lawrence, two sons, Phillip of Algona and Loren Pfeffer, Coon Rapids, Minn. There are five grandchildren. Her mother, Della McKee of the Good Samaritan Center also survives.
Four brothers and a sister also survive; Robert Halford, Lake Havasu City, Ariz.; Oliver Halford, Idaho Falls, Idaho; Otis McKee, Silver Springs, MD.; Richard McKee, Dallas, Texas and Mrs. Vienna Frideres, Algona.
Note from GPS: Algona was severely damaged by a tornado in July of 1979. Eva died as a result of injuries sustained in that tornado.
