JOHN ROSENAU STRICKEN WITH APOPLEXY-DEAD
Succumbed In a Few Hours After Being Taken To His Home. Parents Lived Here For Years.

John Rosenau of Mankato, Minn., a nephew of Mrs. Sever Pannkuk and well-known in Titonka died Friday from a stroke of apoplexy. He had gone to work in the stone quarry, as usual, that morning and seemed to be perfectly well. About eleven o'clock, he asked his father to take him home as he didn't feel very well.

After arriving home, he sat down on a chair near the table, rested his head on his arms, and made some inquiry of one of the boys as to whether he had taken the vegetables from the garden to keep them from freezing. The son replied that he had and then inquired of his father as to what was the matter with him. He died instantly as he sat at the table. He had never been sick enough before to have a doctor.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Landkamer funeral home, the Rev. J. A. Rinkel officiating. Interment was in Pilgrims Rest Cemetery.

Mr. Rosenau is survived by four children; Clifford, John, Helen, and Ruth; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Rosenau of LeHillier; two brothers, August and William of Mankato; and one sister, Mrs. Ray Smith of Chicago. The death of Mr. Rosenau leaves his children orphans, as the mother died several years ago.

Titonka relatives who attended the funeral are Mr. and Mrs. Sever Pannkuk and sons Herman and Raleigh and Mrs. Senus Isenbrand. Mr. and Mrs. John Pannkuk and family, Bill Wirtjes and Mrs. Amella Rike.
