Walter McKinney was burned to death in a cell at the Fremont jail, his clothes catching fire, it is supposed, from his pipe.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he was born August 24, 1881 and died April 10, 1916. He is buried in the Abel Cemetery in Keokuk County.
