The Anamosa Eureka, Anamosa, Iowa, Friday, January 17th, 1862

A KEOKUK COUNTY PRO.-Mr. Samuel Marshal of English River Township, brought to this place on Monday last a monster hog, weighing eleven hundred and sixty pounds! He measured six feet three inches from the nose to the tip of the tail, and over eight feet in girth, and was not very fat either! He is four years old-is a cross between Byfield and Chester White breeds. If any other county in the West can produce a bigger hog, we would like to see him trotted out. [Keokuk County News.
