Fell From a Train
~
Iowa City, Iowa, June 1, - A man supposed to be Virgil Davenport , son of G. W. Davenport, a grocer of Des Moines, was found lying in a badly mangled position near the C. R. I. & P tracks, eight miles west of Iowa City, by section men yesterday. From all appearances he had fallen off the night train and was badly bruised about the head, and one arm was mangled. He was brought to the city and is now lying in an unconsciousness condition at the University Hospital. On his person were found several letters and tax receipts, showing that he lives in Sigourney; also $55 in money. The injured man is about 30 years of age and good appearing.
