Eric:
Thanks for the quick response. I tried to answer your E-Mail, but both of my attempts ended in the mail coming back. My GG Grandfather James Brislawn, lived in Prairieburg in Linn County but moved to Cedar Rapids after his wife died to wait for spring and his planned move with his children to Washington state, where there was new land to be had. According to a published history of Washington pioneers, a family excerpt described how James died in February 1879 and never made the journey to Washington but that he was carried by oxen 40 miles to Castlegrove to be buried beside his wife, Mary and his brother, Matthew. Based on information on your county website, which includes pictures of Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery, I assumed that might be the place where they were buried. But there was no address with the photos and when I looked up Immaculate Conception parishes in Iowa, there were many and not knowing the area, except what I could find on maps, I'm not certain I have the right cemetery. I know some of the cemeteries have partial lists of those buried there, but I have not been able to locate any Brislawns. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks Ellen
