Hi,
Thank you so much for the information about the two Ireland families buried in the Olin Cemetery. If they are not blood related, then the only other connection seems to be with the Mitchell and Purviance families. While researching my Ireland family, I found information stating the Mitchell's had been Seventh Day Adventist at one time, which was surprising. Maybe the Ireland family was too.
The biggest surprise, however, was to learn many of my ancestors began as Quakers early in America's history--later becaming Mormon, United Brethren and Campbellites. Sadie Hughes Coppess was my ggrandmothers best friend and her ancestor was the Rev. Hughes. He and the Rev. David Purviance were both a part of this movement.
Also, I have two records showing Maggie or Maggie Belle Ireland but non with the name Maggie Isabelle Ireland. Maggie was my gggrandmother. I believe I have a wedding picture of Lewis and her. They were married on August 27, 1871 in Tipton, Cedar County, Iowa,
and witnessed by J. W. Ireland and wife [Myrtie/Mertie].D.K.
