Thanks Diania for looking! Schmidt and Smith are the same - one Americanized. I find that several times in our tree where someone along the way decided to change the way their name(s) are spelled. Even seen where someone changed their name from Zimmerman to Carpenter (Zimmerman is German for Carpenter).
BTW... any mention of a Henry Lorenzen born c.1890 who married Margaret Kray? I see two Henry Lorenzen that were born a year apart in the SSDI.
Or any mention of dates for John H. Kray and Margaretha Reinholtz who were parents of Tjark Folken Kray and Henrich Gerdes Kray? I know they would have been born areond 1820-1830s.
