Found the marriage listed as Martin Smith 2/3/1885 in Monticello but see his last name also as Schmidt. Also you show his name was John in Johanna's obit and had a son named Martin Smith. I see that the father Matin Schmidt (aka Smith) died November 27, 1885. Is there an obit for him?

The son Martin is found born January 17, 1886 and died February 8, 1986 in Chisago Co., MN.
