You may want to concentrate your efforts in Cedar County. George Justice shows up in the Rome township 1880 census but disappears from Jones County for the 1885 census.

Try asking someone on the Cedar County mailing lists or the RAOGK site to see what they can find.

In fact, check out these volunteers at the GenWeb Cedar County web site. There is a person willing to do death record lookups that fall in your time frame.
