Funeral services for Richard A. Eiselstein, 71, Olin, were held Feb. 24, 1987 at the Olin United Methodist church in Olin, with the Rev. Edward Peterson officiating. Pallbearers were Robert Sutton, Charles Wagner, Melvin Klein, Forest Baker, Thomas Hamilton and Marvin Rutenbeck. Burial was in the Tipton Masonic cemetery.
Mr. Eiselstein died Feb. 19 at the Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen, Texas.
The son of Peter and Clara Eichinger Eiselstein, he was born Feb. 19, 1916 near Tipton. He attended the rural schools near Tipton.
Mr. Eiselstein married Ethel Grim June 16, 1940 in Muscatine. He began farming near Nichols and after 2 years he continued near Tipton. After 6 years he moved to Olin, where he farmed until retiring in 1978. His wife died in 1974.
He married Bernice Brown April 4, 1976 in Olin. He was a member of the Olin United Methodist church.
Mr. Eiselstein is survived by his wife, Bernice, a daughter, Mrs. Joe (Alberta) Clark, Marion; 2 sons, Allen, Darien, Ill. and Edwin, Swisher; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Linn (Juanita) Norsworthy, Hobb, N.M.; 3 stepsons, Forrest Brown, Columbus Junction; Kenneth Brown, Davenport and Richard Brown, Long Beach, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Walter (Margaret) Martin, Victor; a brother, Frank, Muscatine; 6 grandchildren, and 11 step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, a brother and 4 sisters.
