Last rites for Louis C. Nielsen, 82, were held at the Hayden Funeral home, Wyoming, Dec. 4 with Dr. Jerrold Swinton officiating. Burial was in the Wyoming cemetery. Pallbearers were John Lacock, Hans Jess, Rick Brunscheen, Leo Ahrendsen, Bradley Hansen and Dean James.

Mr. Nielsen died at the Jackson County hospital, Maquoketa, Nov. 30.

The son of Carl and Marine Frandsen Nielsen, he was born in Torsiiv, Denmark Dec. 18, 1902 and came to Winthrop in May, 1925. He was married to Helen Hartman at Galena, Ill. Jan. 17, 1933. The couple farmed west of Viola until 1952 and then west of Wyoming until retiring in 1968. They moved to Wyoming in October, 1985.

He is survived by his wife, 2 sons, Richard, Tampa, Fla. and Warren, Maxwell; 2 daughters, Mrs. Richard (Nancy) Gutnecht, Hudson and Mrs. Karl (Louis) Jess, Mechanicsville and 7 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by an infant son, 5 sisters and 5 brothers.
