Funeral services for Mrs. Peter C. (Mary A.) Levsen, 97, were held at the Olin United Methodist church Oct. 9 with the Rev. Edward Petersen officiating. Burial was in the Olin cemetery. Pallbearers were William and Robert Ballou, Jerry Holmes, Donald Cox and Ricky and Russel Mizaur. Mrs. Tom Levsen was organist and Mrs. William Ballou was organist.
Mrs. Levsen died at the Monticello Senior center Oct. 6.
The daughter of Joseph and Mary Marek Holub, she was born near Wyoming April 23, 1888. She attended the Wyoming public school. She was married to Peter C. Levsen at her parents home near Wyoming Jan. 25, 1911. The couple farmed in Hall township, Jones county, until retiring in 1941 when they moved to Olin. Mr. Levsen died in 1957.
She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for 50 years, the 20th Century club and a charter member of the Unity club.
She is survived by a son, Paul, Clarence; 2 daughters, Mrs. Bert (Elsie) Ballou, Monticello and Mrs. John (Frieda) Holmes, Olin; 13 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren and a half-brother, Lumir Holub, Wyoming.
She was preceded in death by her husband, a brother, an infant sister and a half-sister.
