Deiderick Lubben, a German laborer, was accidentally killed on the farm of Mr. W. B. Hanken, east of town, last Saturday. In company with some other men Mr. Lubben was engaged in elevating some hay poles. One of the poles slipped and fell across his breast. Dr. Thomas was hastily summoned, but could render no assistance, for the man had been struck a fatal blow. He remained conscious about an hour after the injury, when he expired. The deceased was about 45 years old. He leaves a widow and four small children in poor circumstances.
