Dorothy Stutt age 87, died Monday, May 10, 2021 at the Monticello Nursing and Rehabilitation Center following a brief illness.
Funeral services will be held 1:30 Thursday afternoon, May 13, 2021 at the Wayne Zion Lutheran Church, rural Monticello with interment in the Wayne Zion Cemetery. Friends may call from 11:00 until 1:15 at the church on Thursday. Pastor Wade Reddy will officiate at the services. Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello has been entrusted with Dorothy’s services. Surviving are 2 children, Kathy (Gary) Evarts, Manchester, Russell (Emily) Stutt, Newton 7 grandchildren, Holly Evarts, Kelsey (Stan) Szeto, Joe (Jessi) Manternach, Tom(Katie) Manternach, Jennifer (Cory) Hillers, Kyle Manternach and Joshua Stutt, 11 great-grandchildren and another great-grandchild on the way, and her brother, Alan Husmann, Monticello. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ervin a daughter, Kristy and a son Kenneth, 2 sisters, Helen Breitbach and Marie Lubben and 5 brothers, Merlin, Kenneth, Robert, Laverne and John Husmann and her long time friend and companion Marvin Jansen.
Dorothy Ann Husmann was born September 1, 1933 at Anamosa, Iowa. She was the daughter of John F. and Anna Otten, Husmann. Dorothy attended rural schools near her home. She graduated from the Anamosa Community Schools with the class of 1950.
Dorothy Husmann and Ervin Stutt were married on October 19, 1952 at the Wayne Zion Lutheran Church. The couple farmed near Monticello and Dorothy worked as a secretary at German Mutual Insurance. After Dorothy and Ervin moved to Monticello, she purchased Duane Herren’s insurance business and operated as Stutt Insurance until she retired.
Dorothy was a life-long member of Wayne Zion Lutheran Church. She was baptized October 1, 1933 and confirmed her faith on March 30, 1947.
