Clinton, Iowa, Saturday, May 30, 1896A Peculiar Case
James Northrup, of Anamosa, who suffered with asthma, got up, cleaned himself in clean raiment, combed his hair, and then lay down again. Calling his wife he told her he was going to die and wanted to be buried just as he was. He went to sleep and in less than 30 minutes was a corpse. Less than a year ago his father went into the garden to pick a mess of peas, and died before reaching the house.
