Patricia Mae Schable, age 80, of Iowa City, passed away on Thursday, March 6, 2025 at her home.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Born on August 21, 1944 in Dubuque, Patricia was the daughter of John Fredrick and Vera Mary (Duggan) Siegworth. She grew up in an orphanage and attended several different schools.
Patricia was united in marriage to Robert Toenniges on March 14, 1961. She was a “jack of all trades” and worked as a Master Blaster for Atlas Goldmine for ten years.
In her spare time, Patricia enjoyed reading and quilting. She also liked to do needle-work and cross-stitching. She attended Salam Mennonite Church.
Patricia’s family includes her daughters, Emma Toenniges of Iowa City, and Roberta (James) Adams of Spring Branch, Texas; a son, William (Heather) Toenniges of Decatur, Illinois; grandchildren: Timothy Adams, Thomas Adams, Courtney Adams, Carley Toenniges, William R. Toenniges and Willow Toenniges; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Shirley Tubbs; a brother, Roger Siegworth; and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her former husband, Robert Toenniges; a granddaughter, Brocen Toenniges; and a sister, Geraldine Grayper.
