Funeral services for Lance Bahmler, 92, North Liberty, were held Jan. 24, 1989 at the Brosh Funeral Home in Solon, with the Rev. Doug Peters officiating. Burial and military rites were performed by American Legion Stinocher Post N. 460 in Oakland cemetery in Solon.
Mr. Bahmler died Jan. 20 at his home in North Liberty.
He was born Sept. 2, 1896 in Solon. He married Ethel Scharf Feb. 14, 1933 in Johnson county. She died in 1988.
Mr. Bahmler was a farmer in Johnson county until retiring in 1960. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I and was a charter member of the Solon American Legion Stinocher Post No. 460. He was also a member of Moose Lodge 1096, I.O.O.F. and the VFW.
He is survived by 2 sons, Francis and Clarence, both of Iowa City; a brother, Floyd, Iowa City; 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
