Funeral services for Ethel Bahmler, 72, North Liberty, were held June 11, 1988 at the Broch Funeral Home in Solon, with the Rev. Dennis Martin officiating. Burial was in the Oakland cemetery.

Mrs. Bahmler died June 8 at Mercy hospital in Iowa City following a short illness.

The daughter of Charles and Mary Wheeler Scharf, she was born Oct. 29, 1915 in Johnson county. She married Lance C. Bahmler Feb. 14, 1933 in Johnson county. She was a lifetime resident of the area, with the last 28 in the North Liberty area. She was a member of the Iowa City Women of the Moose.

Mrs. Bahmler is survived by her husband, North Liberty; 2 sons, Francis H. and Clarence G. Bahmler, Iowa City; 3 sisters, Mary Sorensen and Alice Wise, Iowa City and Elizabeth Fisher, Solon; a brother, Harlan Scharf, Tipton; 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
