FAIRFIELD. -- Mrs. Bessie HOLLISTER, 304 East Washington street, was taken by ambulance to the Ottumwa hospital Monday afternoon. She has been ill about two weeks.

FAIRFIELD. -- Mrs. F. C. HOLLISTER, 74, of 304 East Washington street, died at 1:35 a.m. today at the Ottumwa hospital, where she was taken Monday. She had been in poor health two years.
She was Elizabeth (Bessie) Alice BLACK, daughter of Ben. F. and Jeannette WITHERSPOON BLACK. Her father was a former Jefferson county sheriff. She was graduated from Fairfield high school in 1900 and attended Parsons college. She was married March 22, 1904, to Mr. HOLLISTER, who died in July of 1912. She was a member of the Christian church, Hawkeye Rebekah lodge and the Woman's Relief corps.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. A. M. McCOY of Black Mountain, N. C., and Miss Rhoda HOLLISTER of Fairfield; a brother, P. E. BLACK of Montclair, N. J.; three sisters, Miss Jessie BLACK of Douglas, Ariz., Mrs. Frank FALK of Ft. Meyer, Fla., and Mrs. Katherine LaGRANGE of Vinton. Two sisters preceded her in death.
The body is at the Hoskins funeral home, where the service will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. The Rev. Donald Eagle of the Christian church will be in charge. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.
