Page FIVE, Column 2DEATH TAKES JOHN HISSONG
John M. HISSONG, long-time resident of Fairfield, passed away at the Burlington hospital yesterday at 9:15 p.m. (note: in Des Moines Co., IA). He had been a patient there for the past several days.
Mr. HISSONG, whose residence was at 701 West Lowe street, went to New London about three weeks ago to visit his daughter, Grace LEAR. While there he became ill and was taken to the Burlington hospital where he died yesterday.
Funeral services will be held at the Elliott funeral home in New London Saturday at 2:00 p.m. The body will be brought to Fairfield and buried in Evergreen cemetery at 3:30 the same day. Rev. S. P. Williamson will be in charge with members of the I.O.O.F. Lodge No. 4 as pall bearers. The casket will be opened at the cemetery.
Mr. HISSONG was born October 19, 1869. On December 4, 1895 he married Elizabeth SPANGLER who preceded him in death in September, 1929. Until Mrs. HISSONG's death, thes (sic) family resided at 107 East Hempstead street for many years.
He is survived by two children, Mrs. LEAR at New London, and John D. HISSONG, New Orleans, La. Three grandsons and one great-granddaughter also survive.
