Audrey was born the daughter of Emily and Tom Stinson on December 1, 1881. They were living on a farm just south of Baxter. She was raised around the Baxter community all her life.
Audrey was one of six children. She had three sisters, Florence who married a Dodd and later a Willard, Opal who married a Schwienebart and Fern who married a Kracht, and her brothers were John, who was the father of Deloris Wastier and Frank who did at a young age.
Audrey went to school at Independence School #6. She always quit school in the fall to pick corn and help milk the cows. She was a hard worker, helping her parents farm and take care of the family.
Audrey married John Tipton of Baxter and they started farming. She was always helping on the farm then, also.
They had two children, Milo and Glen. John had a brother Alanzo who owned a machinery shop in Baxter. When they needed a piece of machinery for farming, they would get it from Alanzo and charge it until the end of the year.
Milo’s children were Betty Jane, John Dale and Mary DeMoss. Betty Jane has four children, Craig, Cheryl, Allan Dale and Becky. John Dale, who wife Joanne is a cook at the nursing home, has three daughters, Sally, Chris and Nancy. Mary has one daughter, Patricia. Glen had one daughter, Peggy Ann of Las Vegas.
David Tipton, the father of John, was a Union Civil War veteran.
