Agnes Irene Grosskruger, 88, of rural Preston, died Saturday, April 24, 1993 at Samaritan North Hospital, Clinton.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at Salem Lutheran Church, Spragueville. Rev. Marcus Badgley will officiate. Burial will be in Spragueville Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Paul Miller, Harris Thiede, Alan Meyer, Cecil McClimon, Wayne Nolting, Earl Kemp, LaVern Thillmony and John Nolting, Honorary pallbearers will be David, Paul, Mark and John Grosskruger, Dean, Lynn and Neal Engel and Lawrence Schmidt.
Mrs. Grosskruger was born July 16, 1904 in Goose Lake to John C. and Emma Harms Kruse. She married John Grosskruger Sept. 23, 1931 in Spragueville. He died Jan. 29, 1983. She continued to live on the same Century Farm she and her husband had farmed. She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. J. C. (Arlene) Engel of Maquoketa and Mrs. Dale (Norma) Schmidt of rural Baldwin; one son Herman, of Andrew; seven grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; four brothers, Henry of Nevada, John of Maquoketa, Emil of Preston and Virtus of Clinton.
She was preceded in death by one son, one brother and two sisters.
