Lucian “Lou” Tedrow, 68, of Swisher, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 16, 2025, at the St. Luke’s Hospice Inpatient Unit after being diagnosed with AML leukemia in September 2024.

Born in Sigourney, Iowa, Lucian spent his early years in Parnell before moving to Swisher with his family in 1964. He was a 1974 graduate of Prairie High School. He dedicated nearly forty-five years to Amana Refrigeration Corporation, retiring in 2019. After retirement, he found joy in serving friends and community members as a bartender at Swisher American Legion Club 671.

Lucian is survived by his daughters, Christi (Brian) Winders and Luciana (Brad) Pike; his grandchildren, Austen (Sabrina), Trey, Ashlyn, Haley, and Owen; his fiancé, Kristie Langhurst; his sisters-in-law, Pam Tedrow and Marilyn Tedrow; a niece and many nephews; and his cherished granddogs, Max and Dudley.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lucian and Margaret (Almond) Tedrow; his brothers, James, Michael, and John; his sister-in-law, Gloria; and his nephew, Shawn.

A lifelong Green Bay Packers fan, Lucian was known for his loyalty, easygoing nature, and ability to make friends wherever he went. He had a quick wit and a mind filled with random knowledge, making him a fierce trivia player. Above all, he was incredibly proud of his grandchildren and cherished the time spent with them.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, February 20, 2025, at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW, where there will be a 7 pm parish vigil. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, February 21, 2025, at St. Ludmila Catholic Church. Burial will be in Anderson Cemetery, Swisher.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Swisher Men’s Club in Lucian’s honor.

Lucian’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
