Jason Lee Arens was born March 21, 1983, in Grinnell, Iowa to Wayne and Virginia Cline Arens. He graduated with the HLV Class of 2001, in Victor. In high school, Jason excelled in tech classes and woodworking. He crafted his own bolles for his other love, Rolle Bolle. His grandfather Julian taught him the traditional Belgian game when he was very young, using the bolles from Belgium. He was a member of the winning team at the 2019 World Championship Rolle Bolle tournament, held in Annawan, IL. He also made bolles for his nieces and nephews. Jason continued his woodworking skills into his adult life. He owned and operated Arens Construction for many years. He enjoyed collecting pedal tractors, and owned two 2-cylinder tractors, a John Deere 620 and 630. And let’s not forget, he “loved” to fish.
Jason is survived by his parents, Wayne Arens and Virginia Arens; his brothers, Mike (Tiffany) Arens, and Wes Arens (Nicole Costello); his sister Crystal Arens (Eric McClenathan); and nieces and nephews, Katelyn Arens, Logan Arens, Matthew Arens, Brooklyn Costello, and Nash Arens. Also surviving are his maternal grandmother Mary DePauw, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Julian and Voda Arens, maternal grandfather Joe Cline, and step-grandfather Raymond DePauw.
