Williamsburgh Journal, Williamsburgh (Iowa Co.), Iowa, 4 May 1888, p2.
Mr. and Mrs. I. Lyon, who have lived in this community for the last 24 years, are arranging their business so as to start about the 1st of June for Fort McGinnis, Montana. They have a son living in that community and they will make quite a lengthy visit, and if they like that country will probably spend the remainder of their days there. Mr. and Mrs. Lyon are among the best and most highly respected citizens of Iowa county, and their long residence and many acts of kindness have endeared them to a host of friends who will regret very much to hear of their intended change in location. Mr. Lyon is 74 years old to-day; (Thursday May 3,). What a long life! What great changes have taken place since his boyhood days. The railroads, telegraph, telephone, typewriters, and the hundreds of other labor-saving inventions, all within a lifetime- Could he live 74 years longer he would no doubt witness greater wonders than these. The hotel will be run by M.W. Lyon, and will be made a first-class $1 a day house.
