Dolores Olivia (Reinhart) Mathers Chasteen, 74, passed away peacefully on August 21, 2024, of natural causes.

Dolores was born in Cresco, Iowa on October 6, 1949, to Loel and Olivia Reinhart. She was the oldest of four children, and grew up in Miami, Florida where she and her siblings enjoyed water skiing and boating.

Shortly after graduating from Miami Central High School in 1967, she met and married Leslie James Mathers III, moved to Colorado and had two daughters, Julie and Valerie.

Dolores’ love of music began at an early age and continued throughout her lifetime. She had a fondness for Elvis and loved to sway her hips as she danced. Her other interests included watching sports, reading, playing cards, knitting, traveling, spending time in the mountains and eating dessert - especially chocolate.

However, the greatest passion was her family. The joy her children and grandchildren brought her was immeasurable. She was present in the moment with whomever she was with. She adored playing and cooking or just listening to the grandchildren. When her children would say, “I love you” her response was always, “I love you more.”

Her kind and caring nature touched everyone she met, and her generous heart continuously sought the well-being of others. She also possessed a strong faith and contagious sense of humor.

Dolores was predeceased by her parents Loel and Olivia.

She is survived by her daughter Julie Terrill and husband Brett, daughter Valerie Haney and husband Scott, and five grandchildren: Isabella Terrill, Kassidy Terrill, Brenden Haney, Devin Haney and Jordan Haney, along with her three siblings: Loel "Roy" Reinhart, William Reinhart and Laurie Rabold.

In honor of her final wishes, Dolores will be laid to rest next to her parents at Oaklawn Cemetery in Cresco, Iowa. A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date in Parker, Colorado.

Because Dolores desired to help those in need, in lieu of flowers please consider donating to Alzheimer’s Association, Bridge of Hope or Denver Rescue Mission.

Forever and ever in our hearts!
