Married Fifty Years Next Saturday.
Saturday next, Aug. 30th, is the fiftieth wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Robt. Phelan, and they believe that they are the oldest couple still residing in Cresco that was married in the town. They were married by Father Hardin, Cresco’s first resident priest, the ceremony taking place in the chapel the parish had fitted up in the old O’Malley frame building which used to stand on the corner of Elm and Railroad streets where the O’Malley block now stands. Mr. and Mrs. Phelan have many Cresco friends who will wish for them many more wedding anniversaries.
