Carl W. Reed
Senator from the Forty-second district, Howard and Winneshiek counties, was born at Cresco, Iowa, May 6, 1873, and has always lived at Cresco; is a graduate of the Cresco High school, and of the college of law, University of Minnesota. Engaged in the practice of law at Cresco with his father, Henry T. Reed, who was a member of the general assembly, from 1896 to 1904, then practiced alone until December, 1910, when he formed a co-partnership with Charles Pergler, now the representative to the United States from the new Bohemian republic. Has been city solicitor of Cresco, and county attorney of Howard county. Is married, and has three children; a member of the Masonic, Odd Fellows, and Elks lodges.
