Kenneth F. Carver
TRENTON - Kenneth F. Carver, 55, Wayland Rt. 1, died of cancer at 2:20 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10 at Henry County health Center.
He was born July 21, 1930, near Trenton, to Frank and D. Bernice Smith Carver. He married June I. Daines Dec. 25, 1951, at Green Mound Church.
He was a past employee of the Keokuk Gate City newspaper and the Mt. Pleasant News, had operated the Salem News for nine years, and worked at General electric at Burlington for 19 years. He also farmed near Trenton, served in the army medical corps in Japan and during the Korean War. He was a member of Green Mound Church of God, American Legion, served on the Salem city council and fire department and the Henry County Rescue Squad and was active in 4-H.
Surviving: His wife; one son, Scott, rural Wayland; three daughters, Kathy Cole, Trenton, Patti Carver, Mt. Pleasant, and Brenda Carver, Waterloo; his father, rural Mt. Pleasant; three grandchildren; one brother, Arnold, rural Mt. Pleasant; four sisters, Beatrice Hummell, rural Mt. Pleasant, Mrs. Thomas (Barbara) Cutts, Hamilton, Ill., Mrs. Philip (Bertha) Thrasher and Mrs. Dennis (Elizabeth) Koch, both of Spokane, Wash.
Funeral: 2 p.m. Friday, Weir Funeral Home, Mt. Pleasant, Rev. Eric Hunt and Rev. Ralph Draper; Lambirth Cemetery near Rome. A memorial to his church has been established.
