Miss Leona D. Walters, daughter of Frank and Martha J. Walters of Logan, was born near there July 28, 1888, and departed this life on Wednesday afternoon, December 22, at her home.
Nearly her entire life had been spent near Logan where she attended school until her health failed.
For several years she was a patient sufferer and all was done that human hands could do, but of no avail.
She was a loving daughter and sister and a friend to all who knew her.
Her cheerful disposition and many acts of kindness will long be remembered.
Her death came as a severe shock to this community, where she will be sadly missed.
She leaves to mourn her father, mother, one sister, Mrs. Rena Bobbitt, and one brother Orlean Walters. With many other relatives and a great host of friends.
The funeral was held at the Methodist church in Logan on Friday afternoon, December 24, conducted by Rev. M. W. Cable of Denison, Iowa and the remains were laid to rest in the Logan cemetery.
