FUNERAL OF CONCORD WOMAN
RESPECTED HARDIN COUNTY WOMAN PASSED AWAY LAST SUNDAY
The funeral of Mrs. Chris Sampson was held at Zion church, seven miles northeast of here, yesterday afternoon, Rev. J. N. Sandven preaching the funeral sermon. Rev. B. K. Barstad, of Radcliffe, also spoke. The church was filled to overflowing, many failing to gain entrance to the church edifice. Interment took place in the cemetery by the church.
Martha Johanna Osmundson was born in Lee county, Illinois, January 22, 1869 and moved with her parents to Hardin county, Iowa in 1884. On February 20, 1886, she was united in marriage to Mr. Chris Sampson, to which union twelve children were born, four of whom have preceded their mother to the better land. Those living are Clarence, Silas, Colonel, Charles, LeRoy, Agnes and Mae. She also leaves one brother, Julius Osmundson, of near Radcliffe.
Mrs. Sampson had been in her usual health until the past few months when she began failing and she passed away at the family home eight miles northeast of here on Sunday, July 6, 1924, being 55 years, 5 months and 14 days old when called to her Heavenly Home. She was one of the quiet home loving women, whose greatest pleasure was the care of her husband and children, and her friends are numbered by all who had made her acquaintance.
