Obituary: IOWA FALLS TIMES-CITIZEN - June 8, 1988

Stanley Leonard Braga, 79 of Iowa Falls died June 1, 1988 at Mercy Hospital, Des Moines, of a heart ailment. Funeral services were held at 1:30 Saturday, June 4, at the First Christian Church of Iowa Falls with burial in Northlawn Memory Gardens.

He was born August 10, 1908 at Thornton, Iowa to Irvin W. and Marcella Courtney Braga. On March 26,1930, he and Mildred Lucille Rush were married in Cedar Falls. Mr. Braga was an auto mechanic.

He was a member Masonic Lodge No. 192, Anchor Chapter No. 69, Mason City City Council No. 45, St. Elmo Commandry No. 48, Eastern Star No. 346, White Shrine, El Kahir Shrine and Amaranth of Des Moines and worked with Iowa Falls Senior Citizens.

Survivors include three sons, Arden of Bullhead, Ariz., Marlyn of Iowa Falls and Edwin of Palm Springs, Calif.; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two brothers, DeVere of Iowa Falls and Marvin of Marshalltown; and a sister, Beulah Patton of Hampton. preceding him in death by his parents, stepmother Isabelle Nelson Braga, his wife, Mildred, in 1974 and a brother Vincent.

Linn's Funeral Home of Iowa Falls was in charge of the arrangements.
