Ole Tungland, Age 55, Dies

Scott Township, Farmer Was Injured in Fall From Tree

Radcliffe, Iowa, Dec. 7 - Ole T. Tungland, 55, died last Sunday morning at the Tow home in Scott township.

His untimely death came as a result of injuries sustained in a fall from a tree late Friday afternoon, after having removed some branches overhanging the house at the Tow farm home.

In 1885 he came with his parents from Norway to Iowa and settled south of Radcliffe where he spent his entire life.

In 1902 he moved with his parents to Garden City where he was for several years in the store business. He was manager for several years of the Grain elevator in Garden City and served one term as supervisor in Hardin county.

In 1929 he began his work at the bank in Garden City where he worked five years.

July 27, 1933 he was united in marriage to Miss Sena Tow, of Scott township.

He leaves his devoted wife, four brothers, Claus of Garden City; Ereck and Adolph of Jackson, Minn.; Gust of Lakefield; and a sister, Mrs. Theodore Olson, of Garden City.

Ole Tungland Died

Ole T. Tungland, son of Tjol and Thea Tungland, was born in Tungland, Norway, on September 22, 1881, and passed away at the Tow home southwest of Radcliffe, on Sunday morning November 29, 1936, at the age of 55 years, 2 months and 7 days.

In 1885 he came with his parents from Norway to Iowa and settled in this community, where he spent his entire life. His early boyhood days were spent with his parents on the farm.

In 1902 he moved with his parents to Garden City and for several years he was engaged in the store business. He also was manager of the elevator at Garden City for several years and served a term as Supervisor of Hardin county.

In 1929 he began his work at the bank in Garden City, and worked there for about five years. On July 27, 1933, he was united in marriage to Miss Sena Tow of Radcliffe. His untimely death came Sunday morning at 8:30 o'clock as a result of injuries sustained in a fall from a tree late Friday afternoon, November 27 after having removed some branches overhanging the house.

He leaves to mourn his departure his wife, four brothers and one sister Olaus and Mrs. Mrs. Theodore Olson of Garden City, Erick and Adolph of Jackson, Minn., and Gust of Lakefield, Minn., besides a host of other relatives and friends. his parents and two infant brothers preceded him in death. The funeral was conducted from the home at 1:30 o'clock and from Stavanger church in Garden City at 2 o'clock on December 1, Rev. B. K. Barstad assisted by Rev. C. J. Naglestad officiating. Burial was made in the Garden City cemetery.

K. Johnson and daughters of Story City; Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Landor of Ottoson.
