Florence E. Rutz, 89

Mrs. Florence E. Rutz, 89, a one-time Garner resident, died Feb. 19, at the Hill Haven Care Center, 233 University, Des Moines.

Mrs. Rutz had lived in Des Moines for 40 years after leaving Garner.

Services were held 10 a.m., Monday, Feb. 22, at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Des Moines. Burial was at Concord Cemetery, Garner.

Mrs. Rutz was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church.

She is survived by three sons, Lionel, Waukee, Ia., Harold, Mesa, Ariz., and Clare, Des Moines; three daughters, Mrs. Arnold Schmidt, Forest City, Mrs. Roger Lobnitz, Littleton, Colo., and Mrs. Jack Miner, Cambria, Ia.; one brother, Fred Thorne, Dwight, Ill.; and one sister, Lillian Puffer, Detroit, Michigan. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
