1931-1989Services for Roland Boehnke, 57 of Ventura, who died Wednesday, Oct. 11, 1989, the result of a farm accident near Clear Lake, were held 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 14 at St. John's Lutheran Church northeast of Garner with Rev. Reynold B. Petersen as officiant.
Mrs. Tom Buns was organist. Ushers were Ed Furness, Bob Ollenburg and Arlo Woiwood.
Honorary bearers were Harold Boehnke and Eldon Boehnke.
Active bearers were: Robert Boehnke, Walter Boehnke, Carrol Boehnke, Philip Boehnke, Paul Boehnke, Armand Boehnke and Clarence Boehnke.
Burial was in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery northeast of Garner. Graveside military rites were conducted by the Garner Veterans Ceremonial Unit. Visitation was held at the Cataldo Funeral Chapel in Garner.
Roland A. Boehnke, the son of Charles F. and Elsie Johanna (Berghoefer) Boehnke was born October 25, 1931 on a farm near Ventura. He attended St. John's Parochial School and then graduated from Ventura High School. He served his country in the U. S. Air Force from 1951 to 1955. He returned to Ventura and farmed with his parents for several years.
October 25, 1958, he married Louise Maxwell at St. John's Lutheran Church northeast of Garner. They lived and farmed north of Ventura. Roland worked for the Clear Lake Aluminum Plant for ten years and was also involved with farming.
He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his wife, Louise Boehnke of Ventura; three daughters, Mrs. Linda Galindo and her husband, Tony of Mason City; Mrs. Dani Leemkuil and her husband, Tom of Clear Lake; and Joanne Ruth Boehnke of Ventura; a grandson, Cory Christianson; his father, Charles F. Boehnke of Ventura and five brothers, Harold Boehnke and his wife, Dori of Ventura; Clarence Boehnke and his wife, Phyllis of Rapid City, South Dakota; Armand Boehnke and his wife, Marjule of Burnsville, MN; Eldon Boehnke of Clear Lake and Walter Boehnke and his wife, Betty of Englewood, CO.
He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Sally Ann Boehnke and hi mother.
