Okay, we may finally have something to go on!!! According to the 1895 Iowa Census, the Peter Miller, who could likely be my grandfather was, at age 25, a resident of Ellsworth, Hamilton County. The reason we have reached this possibility is that we have found a Peter Miller born on 11 April 1870 in Denmark, according to the Danish Census, he was living in Copenhagen in 1890, before leaving in 1894 (filing his "First Naturalization Papers" in Webster City on 19 September 1894). There is a problem we are trying to correct, we had information from the 1900 Federal Census filing that he was born in February 1870 - with no day date. The fact that not much personal data is given in mid-decade censuses, therefore, we cannot confirm his trade; i.e., was he a Buttermaker?? My Peter Miller, a Buttermaker, likely left Iowa for Minnesota sometime shortly after that Census, having been hired as a Buttermaker at a startup creamery in Burbank Township, Kandiyohi County.
Sorry to bother you folks again, but we're still plugging along. Thanks to all who have bothered to read my posts.
