Mrs. Thomas B. Jacobson Dead

Sunday afternoon, Jan. 9, at 6:40 o'clock, Mrs. Thomas B. Jacobson died suddenly at her home southwest of Jewell, death coming suddenly after but three hours severe sickness. Mrs. Jacobson has for a couple years suffered from a weak heart and last summer was in very poor health following a slight attack of paralysis. Sunday at 3:30 she was overcome by a severe paralytic stroke and never regained consciousness. The funeral services were held yesterday at twelve o'clock from the house and at one-thirty from Bethesda Lutheran church, conducted by Rev. Eastvold, and the body was laid at rest in Evergreen cemetery.

Carrie Jacobson was born in Norway August 6, 1846, and was 63 years, 5 months, and 3 days old at the time of her death. She came to America in 1869, on July 4th, and lived in Story county, Iowa, near Gilbert. She was married to Thomas B. Jacobson Dec. 22, 1870, and with her husband and family moved to Hamilton county in 1882, locating on the farm southwest of Jewell where she resided until her death. She is survived by the husband, three children, Erick, who lives on the home farm, Mrs. Anna Westre of Jewell, and Mrs. Betsy Hermanson of Story City; also three brothers, Nels Hougland and Jacob O. Jacobson of Story City. Mrs. Hermanson and the three brothers and members of their families, and a niece, Miss Bertha Jacobson of Marshalltown, were here yesterday in attendance at the last sad rites.

Mrs. Jacobson was a good wife and mother, a neighbor and friend highly esteemed by everyone who knew her and her loss is sincerely regretted by hosts of friends in the community. The Record joins in extending sincere sympathy to the members of the bereaved family.
