MISS BELLE TYNNING PASSES AWAY
After a long sickness from the dread disease, consumption, Miss Belle Tynning, one of the best and most favorably known young women of the community, died at the home of her mother, Mrs. Martha Tynning, near Jewell, Friday, October 29th. The funeral services were held Monday from Lake Center Lutheran church and the remains buried in the cemetery at that church. Services were held both from the home and from the church.
Miss Tynning had suffered from consumption for several years. Two years ago last August she went to Denver, Colo., in the hope that the western climate would restore her to health. Her sister, Miss Olga, followed later and remained with her in Colorado. Last August she returned to Jewell and remained at home where death finally came. At the time of her death she was 31 years and 23 days of age.
Everyone in the community joins in extending to the mother and the brothers and sisters their sincere and heartfelt sympathy in their loss.
Miss Belle Tynning was born in Norway September 6th, 1878, and came to this country in 1881, living with her parents near Jewell. She grew to womanhood in this community and had hosts of loyal friends who esteemed her highly for her numerous womanly qualities, and all of whom most sincerely mourn her loss.
The funeral services were conducted by Rev. L. A. Haatveldt, of Calendar, pastor of Brekke Norwegian Lutheran church at Lake Center, and in the cemetery at that church th boy was laid at rest.
