From Jewell Record October 22, 1896 (page 5)

Isaac Rooker, a young man about 29 years of age, who lived with his parents near Kamrar, committed suicide last Thursday by shooting himself in the head with a shotgun. The cause of the tragedy is unknown as the young man was considered of sane mind up to the time he took his own life. He went late the house, got the gun and told his mother that he was going out to shoot some ducks. He then walked out of the house and between two corncribs and there committed the deed. The funeral services were held at Webster City last Saturday. Mr. Rooker was a cousin to Mrs. E. Stringer* of this city.

SUBMITTER'S NOTE: Mrs. E. Stringer refers to the wife of Erasmus Stringer, Mary Frances Ester Blue.
