OBITUARY

George W. Green was born in the state of Rhode Island May 17, 1826, and died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Norman Lakin, near Ellsworth, Feb. 6, 1914, aged 87 years, 9 months and 27 days.

He was one of a family of 14 children, of whom but one survives. He was married in the year 1858 to Miss Sarah E. Swope, of Pennsylvania, who preceded him in death in the year 1868. In all these years he has spent most of the time with his daughter who still survives him. He was a member of the Baptist church, having joined in an early day.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at two o'clock, conducted by Rev. Martin Norstad from the Lakin home. Interment was made in the cemetery near Ellsworth.
