INTERMENT: Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Adair, IowaLucille Marie Hammond was born in Guthrie County, Iowa, on June 28, 1915, the daughter of Fonse and Anna Immel Hammond. She grew up in Guthrie County where she attended rural school and later Adair High School where she graduated in 1933.
On December 29, 1934 she was married to Raymond M. Wesack at Bethany, Missouri. They farmed in Adair and Guthrie Counties until moving to Adair in 1963. Lucille taught school several different places during the years and received her Bachelor in Education Degree from Drake University in 1967. She retired from the Adair-Casey School system in 1977,
She had been a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church for forty years and was active in the Ladies Aid; was a member of the Altar Guild; had been a member of DAR since 1973e; was a charter member of the Sunshine Club; and had been a member of the ISEA for many years.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Keith (Karla) Caltrider of Casey and Patricia Unrein of Adair; three grandchildren, Mrs. Mike (Jennifer) Howard of Atlantic, Kevin Caltrider and his wife, Michelle of Denison and Mike Unrein of Adair. Also by two sisters, Mrs. Charles (Lola) Fett of Audubon and Mrs. Andrew (Helen) Faga of Adair; nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Raymond; two brothers, Earl Hammond and Howard Hammond; and one sister, Eva Elgin.
